What is micro needling?
Micro needling also called skin needling is a minimally invasive skin rejuvenation procedure that involves the use of a device that contains fine needles.
During the treatment, slim, fine needles push below the surface of the skin and cause what is called a micro-wound. When these wounds are created, the body’s natural defenses are triggered, and it begins to produce new skin cells, capillaries and collagen to repair the damage.

The History of micro-needling
The earliest forms of micro needling were reported by acupuncturists in China, centuries ago. The evolution of skin abrasion into the procedures in common use today began in 1905, with a German dermatologist.
Dr. Kromayer first reported controlled resurfacing abrasion of the skin. His technique involved the use of rotating wheels and rasps and, except for technical improvements of the equipment, differed very little from today’s micro-needling procedures.
Dr. Des Fernandes, a plastic surgeon and founder of the Environ skincare range, introduced skin needling using a roller for treating wrinkles at the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS) congress in Taipei in 1996. A decade on and the treatment is still being practiced throughout medical clinics globally.
